PLB or Personal Locator Beacons
Does anyone know of any airlines or private aircraft (ie, Learjet, Embraer …) that come with headlights Personal Locator in the case of an accident? Thanks in advance. PS What about the new 406 MHz ELT devices? I have heard almost all aircraft today still carry the 121MHz models useless, because most new ones are too expensive.
They would not. But most if not all come with an ELT (Transmitter Emergency Locator). See, for example, the first reference to the smaller model Learjet. And if they do, it's easy to add. PLB weigh less than an pound or two, and the cost is minuscule compared with a plane.
