Help with my gps?

Ive just got given a garmin nuvi 200 Sat Nav do not think the last owner used a lot, he didn't have a charger with so I brought him one, ive only tried and what happens is that the unit is turned on, its going to a screen with the Garmin logo then a picture leaves that looks like satellite navigation with a wire attached to a tower PC? I think it is but need help, what does

Try with it off, removing the data card, turn it on and let it come to the screen all you need to then turn it off again. Then reinsert the data card and the power switch. If that does not work, try to find a reset button – usually in a small hole in the housing and you need something thin to press. Press the button for few seconds and then release while the unit is on. If none of the above works, then you seem to have bought a stolen a magazine and therefore has not taken away the thief full data card or removed while the unit is turned
