Is it true that some Americans do not know where Canada or Mexico?

I have heard stories of some Americans do not know Where was Canada or Mexico. Do you think this is true?

It is quite true. I went to college in the U.S. and one of my colleagues class asked me where I came from and said Canada and she said, "OMG I love to Asia!" I did not even know what to say about that. It seems impossible that somebody does not know, but it happens. There are stupid people everywhere, and America is not exempt from that. Each country has its idiots. There was a segment in a program in Canada called "Talking to Americans" and filmed throughout the U.S. interviews with U.S. senators, students Harvard / Yale etc, all of whom did not know some basic things about Canada, or believe something absolutely stupid and false that the interviewer asked. Look it up on youtube. It is not staged. Asked Ordinary Americans.
