How to disconnect the fuel relay in my 4runner?

I have a 92 4runner. The fuel relay is in the lead box. It seems only I can get it. I tried it and it was tough. I feel like I just yanking hard to get but do not want to damage anything. Is there any way to disconnect or I can simply pull gently Perhaps with some pliars? I want to do this before changing my fuel filter. I have heard that bleeding does not help much fuel.
